So we needed to address some real-world issues surrounding self-driving cars and come up with some solutions. If a car drives itself, how are you supposed to be assured it has noticed you and will stop where you intend to cross the street? How to understand its intentions when the person in the driver’s seat is taking a selfie, sleeping or doing everything but keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel?
